The Team: Robert Saydah

Robert F. Saydah is a partner of Hodge / Niederer / Cariani / Lindsay (HNCL Partners) focusing on Board of Director assignments. Previously, Bob was a Senior Partner in Heidrick & Struggles Health Care Products Practice, and former Managing Partner of the San Francisco office.

Bob's search practice has focused on serving clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology. diagnostic, medical devices and consumer products industries. He has completed assignments for Chief Executives, Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Vice Presidents in most staff and line functions. In addition, he has extensive experience in helping companies realign or add to their corporate boards.

Bob had a 30-year tenure with Lederle Laboratories Division of American Cyanamid Company before joining Heidrick & Struggles in 1988.

There, he held positions of increasing breadth and responsibility in general management, strategic planning, and marketing and sales, culminating as Vice President responsible for the branded prescription, generic, and consumer health products businesses. While at Cyanamid, he also had operational responsibility for divisions in Latin America and Europe.

Other career experience includes being President and Chief Executive Officer of Bio-Response, a biotechnology firm in Hayward, California.

Bob received a B.A. in Biology and an M.S. in Bacteriology from Lehigh University. He has served in leadership posts in the National Pharmaceutical Council and Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers Association. In addition, Bob has served as an elected member of two boards of education.
